Third cycle [year 7 onwards of medical studies]
The third cycle of medicine follows studies to achieve diplomas that are pursuant to national regulations and the Faculty of Health Sciences and under the educational and administrative supervision of Sorbonne University. It provides classes and awards diplomas for the purpose of professional, scientific or further training:
- DES and DESCs
- The DFMS – DFMSA
- Medical thesis
- Specialised medical qualifications
- University degrees and inter-university degrees

National diplomas
- DES and DESCs : Medical speciality postgraduate degrees (DES) in General Medicine, or Further medical speciality postgraduate degree (DESC)
- Medical thesis
- The DFMS – DFMSA : (Diploma of Specialised Medical Training) and the DFMSA (Diploma of Advanced Specialised Medical Training) for non-EU students
- Specialised medical qualifications
