An access control system at the entrance to the library gives priority access to Sorbonne Université students and registered members of the public interested in the collections.

  • Registration is automatic for Sorbonne University students.
  • Hospitals and Sorbonne University researchers must provide a professional certificate.
  • Readers from outside Sorbonne Université: access reserved for 3rd cycle medical students and healthcare professionals, with proof of enrolment. Persons from outside Sorbonne Université must pay an annual registration fee. Apply online.

Registration entitles you to borrow documents from the various Sorbonne University medical libraries, up to 10 books at a time throughout the network.

Titles

The library has around 35,000 open-access books in the biomedical, medical and paramedical fields.

Magazines
Only around fifteen titles are still available in hard copy, including paramedical magazines (psychomotricity, speech therapy), as well as Prescrire and La revue du praticien.

Online magazines
The magazines room is located opposite the lending bank and has 8 computer workstations for consulting online magazines.

Databases
A selection of medical and paramedical bibliographic databases is available. Some of these databases are subject to subscription and can only be accessed on Sorbonne Université workstations (including the library's Internet workstations).
The databases list and index magazine articles and provide you with article references (title, author, magazine, etc.) based on the search criteria you have specified. Access to the full text of the article is not guaranteed: the University must also be a subscriber to the magazine.
