You are coming to Sorbonne Université medicine faculty for research or teaching? The international relations office will sign your official invitation (hosting agreement =convention d'accueil). If you live in Paris, we will assist you in formalities: visa, residence permit...

VISA

To apply for a visa at the French Embassy in your country of origin, you will need a hosting agreement, signed by the International Relations Office. Please, send us by email (medecine-international@sorbonne-universite.fr) the following document signed by the host unit.

REQUEST / RENEWAL OF RESIDENCE PERMIT - if you live in Paris

The International Relations Office will forward your file to the prefecture. Please send/bring us (Service des relations internationales, bureau 8,  91, bd de l'Hôpital 75013 PARIS) the following documents:

  • Copy of passport
  • Copy of visa
  • Copy of entry stamp
  • Copy of the residence permit
  • Proof of address
  • Request for a hosting agreement
  • If your stay is paid by your home institution: your employer statement that you are paid for your mission at Sorbonne université (it could be written in English)
  • The following form with your signature

FOR THE 1st REQUEST ONLY : online visa validation certificate (certificat de validation de visa), birth certificate with its French translation (if there is a difference between different documents), marriage certificate.

 

REQUEST / RENEWAL OF RESIDENCE PERMIT FOR YOUR SPOUSE - if you live in Paris

  • Copy of passport
  • Copy of visa
  • Copy of entry stamp
  • Copy of the residence permit
  • Proof of address
  • Copie of your marriage certificate with French translation
  • Copy of the researcher's employment contract/grant certificate
  • 2 photos 35mm * 45mm
  • Copy of the employment contract/confirmation of grant
  • If your stay is paid by your home institution: your employer statment that you are paid for your mission at Sorbonne université (it could be written in English)
  • The following form with your signature

FOR THE 1st REQUEST ONLY : visa validation certificate (certificat de validation de visa online), birth certificate with its French translation (if there is a difference between different documents).

MINOR CHILDREN

They are subject to the parents' visa. If you wish to travel abroad, you can request a Circulation Document for Minor Children at the Prefecture.
